Some family and friends have blessed me by being Friday’s Guests on my blog. I am so thankful for each of them and their contributions. Here’s a little bit about each person.
Sarah is a dear friend of mine. We haven’t known each other for long, but I sure appreciate her friendship! Her post is: Sarah’s Yummy Salmon.
Will is Christy’s son. He’s 9, and is an aspiring cook. His post is: Will’s Feast, which features Magic Mac & Cheese!
Uncle Jake is Jill‘s Dad, and Aunt Sue‘s husband. He makes the best ribs. Really. The very best. Even if he didn’t, he’d still be a really fun uncle. His post is: Amazing Ribs by Uncle Jake.
Brandy is a dear friend of mine. We were roommates for a year, and have been friends for over a decade! Even though she lives far away, we try to keep in touch with visits, emails, and phone calls. She’s got a culinary degree and loves to eat yummy food. Her post is: Making Meals Easier – Brandy’s Discovery.
Terry is my Father-in-law. He’s a wonderful part of the pair that makes up my Husband’s parents. He’s a teacher, berry farmer, pie baker, and jam maker. His post is: Oberg Blackberry Jam – Giveaway.
Natali is a friend of mine. She’s a fellow blogger (I know her in real life, not just computer life), who loves cooking and eating (among other things). Her post is: Natali’s “Sugar Dream” Cookies.
Jill is my cousin, but is more like a sister to me. She is one of my dearest friends. She is a great cook and especially loves to bake. I asked if she would share Oma’s recipe for Moon Cookies.
Josh, or Onky as he is affectionately called by our other brother and I, is my youngest brother. We love to cook together. He is studying to be a Health Inspector, and is my go-to for “can I eat this” questions. His posts are: Food Safety, Food Safety Part 2 (Um, ya, really original names, Rach!), and Josh Again!
AJ, or Alexandra Joy as she is professionally known, is the owner and stylist of a cute business called Pink and Honey, where she does custom styling, vintage rentals and handmade décor for boutique weddings and events. She is also a good friend, who lives way too far away! Her post is: Alexandra Joy’s Red Velvet Brownies.
Joanna and I are kinda new friends. But, in the short time that we’ve known each other, she’s become a really good friend. We both love to eat, and she’s learning to love to cook. She’s also a super talented graphic designer, who is responsible for my logo!
Her post is: Jo’s Tomato and Mozzarella Pizza.
My Aunt Sue is my cousin Jill’s mom. Jill is one of my best friends, and is like a sister to me. I spent a lot of time at Uncle Jake and Aunt Sue’s house when I was growing up. When we go back to Ontario to visit, we often spend time at their house too. During a recent visit, Aunt Sue made us some chocolate fudge sauce! It’s soooo good. Better than any that I’ve bought at the store. Her post is: Aunt Sue’s Chocolate Fudge Sauce.
My brother-in-law, Travis is a really talented musician. He can be seen and heard in Santa Cruz, CA, in coffee shops and cool venues throughout the States when he travels, and in your own home on iTunes or CD. But the talent doesn’t stop there. He’s also a really great baker and he makes awesome sourdough bread. His post is: Travis’ Sourdough Bread.
My friend Katy is a young cook. She’s twelve. But she’s already mastered things like Crêpes and Omeletes, which I find impressive. Her posts are: Crêpes, by Katy – Guest Post! and Katy’s Omelets.
Sheila is the Head Chef at Torchbearers – His Hill Bible School in Comfort, TX. She is a dear friend of mine, and was my roommate for 4 years. She was a big encouragement to me in my culinary pursuits (as she was to many others). I still call her to ask her if I can substitute things. My first cooking show was done with her. We mostly giggled at ourselves, and I don’t remember if we actually cooked anything. Her post is: Sheila’s Biscotti.
My good friend, Genevieve is so passionate about food that she’s attending culinary school right now. She’s a wealth of information! She’s not just smart, she’s also a lot of fun, and a lot of laughing usually happens when we get together. Her post is: My Friend Gen.
My mom was a stay-at-home mom. She had lunches ready for us when we’d come home during elementary school, she made healthy, yummy suppers… one of the ways she cared for her family was by feeding us well. And now, she not only feeds us when we go home to visit, she feeds others. She and Dad have a banquet hall called RiverSong on a few acres of property, where they host groups that she cooks for. It’s so fun to see her doing something that she loves! Her posts are: A Family Thing and Ending My Birthday Extravaganza with a Post by my Mom where she shares her potato salad recipe.
My friend Christy and I share many of the same views about food and healthy eating. In fact it’s what really started our friendship. We’ve spent a lot of time since discovering this common bond, eating together and talking about food. Her posts are: Crock Pot Yogurt and Pea Tendrils, Please.
I have a few new and some repeat guests lined up for the next few months. I’m excited to read what they have to share. Stay tuned!
